weisenburger projekt GmbH and weisenburger bau GmbH yesterday completed an important step in the development of the Eichenheege development area with the official ground-breaking ceremony in Herbert-Belser-Ring in Maintal. The ceremony was attended by Monika Böttcher, Mayor of Maintal, Torsten Bechert, Member of the Supervisory Board of MIG, Götz Frick, Frankfurt Branch Manager of weisenburger projekt, and Frank Zschippig, Technical Manager in Frankfurt of weisenburger bau GmbH.
The ground-breaking ceremony marks the start of the final construction phase of the neighbourhood. Three modern apartment blocks with a total of 58 flats, ranging from 1.5-room flats to spacious 5-room flats, are being built here in accordance with the latest standards of sustainable construction. In her speech, Mayor Böttcher emphasised the importance of the project for maintaining and increasing the quality of life in Maintal.
The project comprises a wide range of different types of housing that contribute to a mixed and lively neighbourhood. All residential units fulfil the high requirements of the KfW 40 standard and bear the ‘Sustainable Building’ (QNG) quality seal. State-of-the-art technologies such as energy-efficient heat pumps and photovoltaic systems ensure an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient energy supply. The concept is complemented by forward-looking mobility solutions such as car-sharing stations and charging stations for electric vehicles.
‘After today's go-ahead, the construction site will be set up in the coming weeks so that construction work can begin in November,’ explained Götz Frick, Frankfurt office manager at weisenburger projekt GmbH.
Completion of the apartment buildings is scheduled for the end of September 2026, and 33 of the 58 flats have already been sold. Future residents can expect high-quality fixtures and fittings with spacious loggias or terraces and many other amenities.
